I am such an idiot. I ordered a colorlogic light and ended up getting the wrong size. I got the spa light not the pool light - now that's sitting in the corner of my office.
Then I order the POOL light. Looks great. Took today off gathered my tools, put on the swimsuit. Went out and turned all the power off, found the correct junction box, disconnected wires, tied on fish line.
Hopped in the pool removed the mounting screw on the old light - wtf? It's a NICHELESS LIGHT. Argh. Yes I should have checked. But it's a nicheless 120v light. There are bare connections right behind the "clip on" light fixture that are carrying 120v.
Obviously I decided I couldn't install my new EXPENSIVE light but more importantly I decided I don't even want this old light in my pool - it looks dangerous even though we've used it for years I don't like my kids swimming around it.
It's an american products aqua lumin - is there anything I can get that's 12v nicheless and does colors? And where is the cheapest place to buy a 12v transformer I could use with such a light. Could I just add a transformer and install a 12v bulb into my fixture?? The gaskets and surround piece on this light are all shot as well. It just looks like a deathtrap for my kids.
Anyway it's disconnected and just there for looks at the moment. If I don't find a low power solution I'm happy with then it may just stay there.
Thanks.
