I checked out my SWG (Jandy Aquapure 1400) this weekend, and saw two error codes on the front panel. When I went to see what was involved in removing my cell for cleaning (based on the control panel 125 error code, and 194 <not in the manual>) this is what I saw.

At first I thought is must have been lightning, judging by the "dot" on the center of the connector, but that doesn't make sense, since so much else around that location is intact. Then after reading here about Jandy circuit boards, I'm thinking that that could be a culprit. What I'd love to know is: (1) anyone else ever see something like this? And, (2) anyone care to guess what caused it? Everything was humming smoothly 2 weeks ago, however, I added acid at that point to bring down the pH.

My only other "theory" (SWAG) is that some dripping of water, or leaves, or whatnot bridged the connectors and burned up, enough to melt things and trash the connector, wire, and maybe the cell.

We've experienced similar results on our cells too. This is usually from water getting into the cell to cell cord connection. Sprinklers and leaks are the typical causes, but also from the cell being removed for cleaning or acid washing and the terminals not being dried off before the cell cord is plugged back on.

More than likely, if you're able to get the cell cord off, as long as the cell to cord connection is tight, you can still use the cell. If it's sloppy, you may have to replace the cell too.
