We just filled our 18x4 round above ground pool (7200 gal. water) with well water. We knew we had an iron problem and immediately put in 21 oz of Simplicity Metal out per instructions. We did this at 6pm on Friday. At 9am Sat. we put the rest of the 1qt bottle in because we saw no difference. We went and had the water checked here are our numbers.
0ppm - for free, total, and combined chlorine (we have added nothing yet)
7.1 - pH
40 ppm - Hardness
47 ppm - Alkalinity
10 ppm - Cyanuric Acid
.03 ppm - copper
1.88 ppm - iron
Total Dissolved Solids not run
0.00 - Nitrate
Because the iron was so high we added a qt of Jack's blue magic at 12 pm Sat. and let it sit. This morning it still looks the same. We have added nothing but the metal outs and are more concerned with getting the metals out fast at this point then adding chlorine before the algae starts.
What would be the best stuff to get the iron out? I really wish we could find the Regal Metal Out again, it worked great with our previous pool!
Thanks,
Alicia
