I have a inground vinyl liner pool aprox 20,000 gallon. It currently has a inline chlorinator that uses tablets. I want to start using the BBB method to avoid the headaches we had last year. I also have a new unopen bucket of the tablets that we bought from walmart. Will I be able to use them or should I take them back and just buy more bleach?

I plan on opening the pool tomorrow and will test the pool with our new test kit purchased from here and will post my readings. Should I test right after moving the cover or let it circulate for a while first?

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I would open the pool, let the water circulate for at least a few hours, then run a set of tests and post the results. You will almost certainly have to add CYA, which you could easily do with the pucks, but I wouldn't use the ones from WalMart. Theirs have copper added, and you don't want copper in the pool because that's what causes green staining on hair, nails, and liners. I'd take the tabs back and either use it to buy bleach and granular CYA, or take the money to Leslie's and buy pucks without copper. Depending on your CYA reading from the beginning, you can probably use a few pounds of pucks before you have to go to straight bleach. You'll know for sure, though, after you run your tests.
