ok, so thank god we missed the tornadoes, but the wind took part of my cover off and in went some of that nasty green water into my "WAS" crystal clear pool. Opening in about 2 weeks hopefully....this years weather is crazy. Any suggestions for preventing more work later???

If you have a sump pump, or anything else to provide some circulation for a couple of hours, you can add a gallon or 2 of bleach and replace the cover until you're ready to open. Hopefully this will keep the algae that got in the pool 'at bay' - or outright kill it:) Any large debris that you can easily get out will also help prevent a swamp when you open.
Sorry the cover went in, but at least the entire pool isn't in the next county:p

This has happened to me several times before and it doesn't take that long to clear it right up. No big deal other than it is disappointing to see your clear water get yucky.

Thanks guys...all was perfect. Just a little OOKIE, but no problemo like you said watermom.
Opened it a few weeks after the incident, had added one bottle of algaecide 60 a day or two "after" the incident and had the best "no algae" season of the year....although it was a cool summer.
