Well our pool will be delivered next Thursday. Ground is pretty much ready. I was unsure of what to use but am now considering a foam bottom. I like the idea that it protects the liner better then sand. Don't have to worry so much about rocks working them selves up. Plus I hear the foam bottom is nicer and easier.

For those that have used foam what is the best type to use and how thick? Also do you tape both sides top and bottom or just the bottom?

Also I guess when you use foam you have no choice but to use a manufactured cove. What is the best name brand for that ?

We looked at the foam bottom but decided to go with the Gladen Perfect Bottom as it protects the liner from nutgrass, insects, and is perfectly smooth with no footprints or wrinkles. It feels similiar to an inground pool with a concreate pad underneath.
