Hey guys. After a couple solid years of frustration I found the forum, read the faqs, studied the archives, and am beginning to get a grasp for the water.

I pulled the cover off and my K2006 fas-dpd test kit arrived.

25k gallon vinyl liner
Crystal clear water

Here are my results.

FC: .6 ppm
CC: 1.6 ppm
PH: 7.5
TA: 80 ppm
CH: 130 ppm
CYA: All I can say is it is less than 30 ppm using the black dot test because I filled the tube all the way up and could still barely see the black dot.

Thanks for the help, I just didn't want to "wing it" in the beginning steps of making my pool perfect.

shock the pool and bring your CYA up to about 40 ppm. Then maintian your FC at about 4 ppm and you should be good to go. You might find that you have a chlorine demand at first (as indicated by perisistant CC and FC not holding) so just keep shocking to 15 ppm and holding it there until the CC is gone and the FC is holding. The rest of your numbers are perfect.
