Hey folks,

I currently have an 18X36 in-ground vinyl pool. No heater or anything. I was thinking about installing a hot tub/jacuzzi to complement it. Something that can fit like 5-6 people. It can be above ground as I imagine that would be much cheaper.

I'm just trying to get a round about idea of how much it costs in the end. I'm sure there's many factors like can I reuse my existing pump and filter...so I'll assume that an estimate could easily be 2K off.

But, about how much for an above ground hot tub? 5K...10K....20K? Just trying to get an idea so I know if it's realistic or not. Also, how much more are you talking if I went for an in-ground (assuming the piping won't have to travel far)?

Thanks a lot!

Alright...I've been doing a ton of research and I think I've got the answers I need.

Seems like you can get a decent above ground hot tub that seats 4, for around 4K-5K. Add on 1K for the electrical work. Add on 1K to pour cement for proper grounding. So, around 5-7K depending on your situation.

What I didn't realize was that the heater and pump and piping are all included and self contained in the hot tub, which is cool.
