Hi All Happy New Year

My father lives in New Jersey .He contracted to have his pool built this fall. We after delay from both town with permit and pool company vacation .

They now want to start digging the pool Jan 21st. its a 20 x 40 Gunite pool. I told my father ,I would find out if he should or shouldnt have them start until April 1st.

My feeling is the pool with not set right if there is freezing temp every night then mid 40 to 50 somedays. Just few nights ago it was in the teen . I told him to wait until April and maybe they will have it done by en d of May

Any thoughts ???????

Digging the hole in winter shouldn't be a problem, but they shouldn't spray the gunite until it will set correctly and that means after the freezes are over.
