I thought that I had another quart of Poly 60 on my shelf, but I was wrong.

My pool is scheduled for closing on Weds and I just went to add my Poly 60, but it seems that I am out. So I went to the pool store that I usually use and they are out also. They tried to sell me a Bioguard "Winterizing Kit" that has a quart of 3% Copper and that oxidizing powder. I asked about Poly 60 and the pool store employee (an adult that works there full time) told me that "no one was using that stuff any more"

So I went to Lowe's, HD and Wal-Mart and all had removed the pool chemicals.

I went to the only other pool store and all they had left was a bottle of PolyQuat 20% with 2% Copper.

Should I use this stuff or go without? I think it is too late to order over internet since I am closing Weds. The leaves are coming down and I would like to get the pool closed.

Thanks

Well, if you're going to superchlorinate prior to closing, I would NOT put ANY copper in the pool.

I do plan on super-clorinating. I have not used any Copper containing products before and I am not really familiar with its use.

I did find an online retailer that will "overnight" Poly60 so I should have Tuesday evening. My current plan is to add a quart Tuesday (allow to circulate with no filter) and then add more chlorine in the am Weds to get CL in the 8 range (CYA is 30).

Thoughts?

So what the heck is this Poly20 and Copper 2%?
