I have in 25K Gallon IG pool that we have inherited when we bought our house 8 years ago.

The pool was a bromine pool when we moved in and we have not changed it simply because it has worked and been relatively easy to maintain.

This year, we had the liner replace to a new one and it is blue (vs old one being slightly green).

What we have notice this year is that our pool turns from blue to slight green shade.

I can shock the pool, utilizing Calcium Hypochlorite that I bought in bulk at a rate of 2oz per 5K gallons and get rid of the green. However, this is only good for a day or so and I need to re-activate with the CA(CIO)2 to keep water blue and bromine levels good.

I have taken apart DE filter, sanitized and recharged. Also took my water samples to two other places to check my readings and all is good including mineral levels.

Is this just the nature of bromine being depleated by sunlight or is there an underlying problem that I am missing??
