I am contemplating the expensive step of doing my entire pool with glass tiles. However, there is little to no information that I can find anywhere on the Internet:

1. What do the tiles themselves cost?
2. Is there anywhere one can import or otherwise find low / wholesale priced tile?
3. How much does installation typically cost?
4. Any secrets to success?

Thanks.

Oh my, that's a costly choice ! Glass tile typically cost $15-$25 per sq ft, and from what I hear a tile setter usually charges $5-$10 per sq foot esp for the more challenging mosaic tile (including thin set, grout, etc ...)

Volume discounts might help, but finding someone who does this well especially on curved surfaces won't be easy ... you have been warned !

They are more challenging to set because you can see through them ... make sure they use white thinset (in most cases) and have them do a sample board of several sq foot including joins between the 1 sq foot sheets.

Perhaps do glass tile near and above the waterline and a complementary tile for the rest of the pool.

We once saw a black-tiled pool--bet it heats up nicely without a cover--but it's impossible to see dirt or algae on it--and very claustrophobic.
