Is Super Algae 60% strength the same?

I don't have algae right now. But I want to do a bit of a "dose" before I leave somebody else in charge of my pool. My DH will be here - LOL - but he doesn't want anything at all to do with "THE POOL" -

I know before someone mentioned the chemical name. The stuff I have right now may not be right, so I didn't want to put any in the pool if I need to purchase something else.

What I have is from Wal-Mart and cost about $14.88 or something. It says it is 60% strength.

Alkyl (60%C14, 30%C16, 5%C12, 5%C18)
dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.......................................... ....30%

They did have another one that said "copper something" but I do remember this forum having tons of threads saying DON'T USE COPPER ALGACIDE - which is why I told the pool place, "No thanks, I have some algacide at home."

Okay, that was a LONG post for a simple question. Sorry. Thanks so much to everyone here. I haven't posted as much this year as last, but I am forever grateful to all of you who helped me out of a green, green, pool. :D

This is probably an HTH product and it is NOT polyquat 60! It is a very strong linear quat (the kind that foams, even though the bottle says non foaming!)
Return it!

Polyqaut will start iwth the word poly followed by the long chemical name and will be the only active ingredient.

If you have a KMart locally, check there as I know they carry the Polyquat product - Not sure what the brand name was but it the right stuff. It is about $20 bottle - our Walmart did not have any and neither did Menards or Lowes, although you can order it online at Lowes.

I wait for the sales and load up on Polyquat 60%--I never pay more than $15/quart.

How much do you use Carl, I have a 22,000 IG vinyl
I want to start using some ploy routinely, I have a FC of 11-13 and cya 70. And how much FC does the poly eat? What should be the first dose and then the maintenance?
