View Full Version : Manual vac head recommendations....

For the beginning of the season I usually manually vac the pool. I need to replace the vac head I currently have because the brushes are worn out (incidentally, they are "replaceable" yet I cannot find the replacements.....go figure).

Any suggestions on a good one?

Its for a vinyl lined IG pool. Its a grecian shape with a hopper bottom. I currently have a triangle shaped vac, but it seems that might not be the best shape for my pool (hard to get the corners and where the floor and walls meet).

Thanks in advance.

Look for a vac head that does NOT have a long brush in the front but rather has two shorter brushes that angle in a V shape towared the vacuum hole. This will be more effective at actually sucking up the dirt instead of just brushing it up into the water. These type of vac heads usually have a retangular shape. I know Ace Hardware carries them.

I bought the vac head Ben suggested as well as the leaf eater. Both work great. Of course you cna't buy from Ben but I've seen similar items elsewhere. Usually can't go wrong with Ben's suggestions, boy he is missed.

I was under the impression the one Ben was selling was *not* for vinyl lined pools....are you using it on a vinyl liner?

Using it on my vinyl pool without any problems
