I have a 28x14 IG pool and above the water/tile line is an outlet appx 2.5" round with threads on the inside of it, i have lived here for 3 years and the outlet has never been in use from when i had a pool service or for the past 2 years while i have been maintaining the pool myself, my question is what could the outlet be? i will be posting a picture of the outlet in the next 2-3hours so you can get a better idea of what it looks like, i hope this is the right section for this question, thanks for any help.

P.S. There is another thign that is bothering me right now i have my barrcuda in the pool 24/7 on a timer for about 4hours/day. i pulled out the skimmer basket and attached the barracuda to there because i dont seem to have any other place to hook it up, i want the barracuda to work and the skimmer is there a way to accomplish this maybe hook it up to the main drain? or is the only way to install a third suction line if my pump can even handle that? Thanks for any advice. feel free to move this question to any correct section thanks.

Hi, Arron,

Is it possible that outlet is a pipe running back to your pump that you are currently not using? Wouldn't it be nice if that pipe was connected to the suction side of your pump and you could hook the barracuda up at the outlet?:)

Ha! that would be ideal, i had an idea could it be a pipe that just leads to the dirt outside the pool area in case the water level gets 2 high it would just drain out water until the level is under this pipe? here are pictures of it maybe they will help? Thanks for your ideas :)

That sure looks like and overflow to me like the above user mentioned. That's right at the correct height.

You may be able to buy an automatic skimmer vacuum plate that will let your cleaner and skimmer work at the same time. Hayward makes one but I don't know if it will work with your skimmer or cleaner.
