We are probably going with the Emerald Isle 24' 54" round AG. The only problem is I have no reference to go by on what is a good price for this pool. Only one local small time dealer carries it and I cannot find any prices online. Could someone out there that has something similar give me some feed back? Just talking about the pool and maybe some type of package that came with it. Not any installation.

Thanks for your help.

Hi.
This is were we bought our new pool from.
http://www.sunenterprises.com/abovegroundpools.htm
The pool in the middle called the Ultima is an Artesian.
We just bought and installed the 33'round. Even tho they call it the Ultima it is still an Artesian- they are just allowed to give it their own name.
If you call them they will answer all your questions and concerns.
This is a great company to buy from. Their customer service is primo!

Good luck

Do a google search and then start calling online dealers... I highly doubt your local dealer will be the best price... I found the average price for pools online was about $2000 less than what a local dealer was charging, when you're looking at pools priced above $6-7000.

I'm not sure i've ever seen an artesian price online either... They may have a policy against publishing their prices, to discourage price wars.

Also, look for renamed brands, like hoffmans said...

yea sun enterprises is a good bet, i also got mine from them
on ebay ,i had an issue with the liner when they delivered but they sent a new one, just inspect everything after delivery

and no need to overkill on the pump most you need is probably
a 1 hp pump with a 150 lb sand filter

there is only so much water that can got thought the hose opening so more power doesn't really mean cleaner water

i pieced mine together and have a nice setup if you set up up yourself ,make sure ground is level do not skimp on it

also consider the work,i thought i could do all mine by hand and it was over 2 feet off level from 1 side to the other which means alot of digging me and my brother took a good week to set it up and clear the ground i believe a bobcat would have saved 6 days

good luck

We were really happy w/ the customer service from www.sunenterprises.com.
Our ladder was damaged during shipping. When we told them about it they replaced it immediately.
We choose the the basic pool package and said "we don't want the pump, but we will take the sand filter. " We bought a 2speed pump from here: http://www.poolsupplies.com/parts/waterway-hiflo.asp
It is very quiet when on low.

Good luck on your purchase!

Thanks everyone. We bought the pool locally and are having it installed. Even though they give a pump with the purchase, I bought a smaller 2 speed (Pentair Dynamo) based on charts. Probably just throw the pump they gave up on ebay or something. Either way everything should work out fine. Our yard is Bermuda which could causes some issues. I have already marked off a large section where I want the pool to go and have sprayed with super concentrated round up. I will probably due this a couple of time before the install and they will end up digging anyway. I just feel better getting a head start on the Bermuda.

Ok MJS, this thread has finalized my pool make/model and store to purchase from (Diamond Star from www.sunenterprises.com (http://www.sunenterprises.com)).

MORE INFORMATION:
I live near Seattle Washington so there are very few pool stores locally. www.sunenterprises.com (http://www.sunenterprises.com) has the easiest ordering system and most information about the pools offered. That plus positive references from members here in PF make me comfortable with proceeding. I've learned from this forum that reputation is important to consider for pool stuff (but not everything)

Store gets it too you and sets price, but the manufacturer is responsible for product quality and warranty. Enough people referenced Swim Artisan to make me comfortable. The only problem is they rebrand their pools (which makes me worry about warranty) but for now I'll trust their reputation on this forum.

OVAL POOL ONLINE STORE LIST:
I compiled a draft list of online stores I've found (mostly from other posts in this forum) with make/models and other details for my 12'x24'x52-54" BF (Buttress Free) pool research. This might be a useful starting point for others.
IMPORTANT: Following is a first-draft list and doesn't include all make/models available from each store, total price including all options, full warranty details, data verification, and many other important factors. Don't buy just based on info in this list!

I'm finishing price comparison. eBay-based RecreationDepot has an $800+ advantage for Diamond Star 12'x24' model, but after I factor in accessories and reputation I'm guessing I will go with Sun Enterprises.

Reply quick if you have useful purchase feedback. I'll order today if I can or tomorrow if Enterprise Pools is closed today.

Zephan-

The sales lady that sold us ours was Kristen A. Cash.
I think no matter what sales person you get tho, they have great customer service and go above and beyond to make you happy. They are FAST to fix any problems.
:)
Good luck.

Thanks. Actually now that I've measured my kids (and posted related thread) I'm thinking 52" is max height pool I should buy... probably the Ultima pool from www.sunenterprises.com (http://www.sunenterprises.com).

PLEASE POST TODAY in related thread if you have thoughts/ideas about pool height and kids.

... except "Ultima" ovals are not buttress free :( . I don't have enough width on my property to have buttresses and 12' wide. Back to Diamond Star and hopefully good technique for keeping depth down ~48" (see related thread).

UPDATE: I purchased the 12'x24'x54" Diamond Star (Wil-Bar) from www.sunenterprises.com (http://www.sunenterprises.com). Purchase went very smoothly. I figured out how to get their Web shopping basket to work (click Back button to order additional items), but decided to talk to a human before sending ~$4,500 total.

I was a bit disappointed to find their Sandstone and Ultima models are made by Artisan but the Diamond Star is made by Wil-Bar. I was also bummed to hear the warranty is prorated... but when I checked it has lifetime warranty on pool walls. (I wonder how they prorate lifetime :-)).

Overall I'm happy to move from the research-and-purchase phase (took me >1 year) to the construction preparation. I'll be re-reading lots of construction posts and preparing my site this weekend and next weekend. (Level, level, level.)

Ohhh.. Don't be disappointed- Correct me if I am wrong but, Wil-Bar is a Sharkline pool and they are very good top of the line pools.

Yes, Wil-Bar makes Sharkline. I know the Diamond Star (branded exclusively for Sun Enterprises). We need a separate topic to decode which manufacturers make which model pools (and who carries them).

I have a Wil-Bar pool (Sea Spray) and have absolutely no complaints thus far. We are on our second year. All of the parts and items appeared to be of very good quality, it went together very nicely. Here is a link on TFP that shows how our Wil-Bar went together from ground levelling to swimming http://www.troublefreepool.com/viewtopic.php?p=2667&highlight=#2667

Enjoy your pool - we will want to see pictures!

Awesome construction walkthrough nwmnmom! I'll use your picture series as reference for my project. FYI, we took delivery of our 12x24x54" Diamond Star (Wilbar) pool two days ago. I'm doing construction notes in separate thread.

Thanks again for all your help & support!
