I know there have been numerous posts on this subject, but here is what I have being installed in a few weeks and would love your input.

Artesian Emerald Isle 24 foot round 54".

This is a local dealer, but this is just part of their business. They do landscaping and other type yard work as well. They will be doing the install. We wanted to go with Artesian and were suprised that someone carried them in our neck of the woods.

I don't believe there is a package deal with this (will talk with the main person on Monday) which is fine so I need some advice on a decent filter, pump and skimmer for this particular pool. They have some in stock at their store, but I would rather get one that is recommended on this forum.

Also...any other items I may be missing that will be needed besides a net, test kit and basic items like this. I plan on getting the pool buster for vacumming.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Mike

I'll let someone else advise you about pumps. But, you definitely need a solar cover (sometimes called a solar blanket). It makes a big difference in keeping your pool warm. Put it on at night to keep your pool from losing all the warmth gained during the day. I would also suggest a solar heater or solar mat. It too will make a huge difference for you.

Thanks...forgot to mention I live in Texas. I actually wish they had a cooling cover.

If you run your solar panels at night, it helps to cool your pool. That might be something to consider.

PS - I'm from Texas, too.
