I live in MA. The temps here have been in the low 60's, today supposed to be 84 but right now at 1pm it's only 65, Friday only 55, 40's at night. Usually we open the pool up around Memorial Day. Was wondering if I can take off the cover now and throw in a chlorine floater and not run the filter for a couple of weeks until the weather warms up?

Real reason is that I can't stand looking at that ugly black cover in the backyard.

We don't have any trees and don't get any leaves but I haven't had the guts to try closing the pool without a cover.

Nicole,
Yes, you can remove the cover. A cover is really used to keep out the falling leaves and debris. We live in NH and as soon as the leaves are done falling we have neighbors who take their cover off. We haven't been thatbrave. We took our cover off last week and it gives me hope to see the water..even with a few floaties!
