Pump leak

Hello all! I just opened my pool up yesterday (yay :) ) and I noticed something about my pump. When it is turned off it leaks around the rim, but when it is turned on it doesn't. I have cleaned and oiled the o-ring and the rim and it is still doing it. It seems like it is just not sealing all the way around. Any suggestions?

Tighten it or get a new O-ring. That's normally the way it acts when it isn't sealed.

If you can't put the pump basket lid on tight enough to keep it from leaking, you need a new O-ring. The O-ring needs to be greased on both sides with O-ring grease to allow it to stay in position while the lid is tightened.
