33' round artesian
54" deep
hayward 36' D.E. filter
1.5 hp pump
30,000 gallons
I made a big mistake and let my pool set up through the winter. I was just thinking that I could simply drain it and start over fresh. Well....That was fine but the elements in my filter were very disgusting and took quite a while to clean. Then the pump and then the multi-valve. It was more work than I had anticipated.
After I got passed all this, I got fresh water to the skimmer and cleaned the basket, started the pump and began the pre-coat with 7quarts d.e. Not long after I noticed the pool was getting foggy, but I let it keep going. I had to go to work and was back within a few hours, I checked the filter and the pressure was at about 35psi. The water was to the point that you could no longer see the bottom.
I have re cleaned the element, checked for rips or tears, cracks in the manifold etc. I pulled the valve apart and cleaned the seals/gaskets and found no problems. Cleaned the pump reservoir and basket also.
That being done I have tried to pre coat 2 more times and still the same problems.
By the way, I have not taken any water readings yet as I have not gotten past this filter issue. I know this is probably just something Im over looking, could you point it out for me?
If you have any solutions please respond,
Thank you so much,
