Can't get bottom clean

I have my pool opened and the water is clear but I cannot keep the bottom clean. I have vaccumed numerous times. There keeps on being brown stuff onthe bottom kinda like sand but not really, just messy and if it is stirred up it clouds the water... Do I need to put a certain chemical in or what... I had this same problem last year, kept water clear but could not keep bottom clean... Please HELP><

It is probably just dirt that is blowing into your pool and settling. I don't really think there is anything you can do except to vacuum it up every few days. I think all outdoor pools have the same problem. It happens in my pool, too. Using a solar cover when you aren't swimming might help.

Two other things:

Your filter isn't filtering the finest stuff.
Your vacuum isn't picking up the finest stuff.

Or you are getting lots of pollen because it's that time of year.

How do I know if my filter is filtering correctly? When should I add new sand to my filter?

Down here in the South, the pollen hit a month ago. No pollen problems now.
