I saw this as I uncovered the pool this afternoon and freaked. Now that I think about it...I saw this all last summer while we were using the pool! Well, the water isn't up yet, but I don't think it leaks. Should I just dab it with silicone or ignore it?

Thanks.

Well, I can see that I am no longer able to post attachments so I can only describe it as a crack thru the inside square plate that frames the skimmer where there is a screw.

Attachment help would be appreciated as I'm getting ready to post a deck plan and pics to help all those above ground people plan one.

Thanks.

Hard to diagnose without a picture, but is this an above ground pool? I would think to be safe you could use some silicone. There is also a product I have used for my gunite pool where it connects to the skimmer, it is AquaMend underwater repair epoxy. I purchased it at home depot and it works great. It says it bonds to fiberglass, wood, metal, ceramics, concrete and many plastics. This might be worth a try also.

ShelleyAnn,
Mine cracked too and I replaced it last season. I think those plates are only around $10-15 and if I remember they come with a new gasket. Just make sure if you replace it, get one compatible with your skimmer. Also you may need someone to help support the outside of the skimmer and DO NOT overtighten the screws (that's what cracked mine).

I would think silicone would work too, but changing the plate is a relatively easy task.

Do you need help posting pictures?

If so,
1. Get the pictures off your camera & onto your computer.
2. resize them if you can.
3. Upload them to the internet (FTP) which means File Transfer Protocal.
4. If you don't subscribe to a site to upload them too then sign up to a nifty place like www.photobucket.com and upload your images/pictures. Its Free.
5. Come back to this forum and start writing your thread.
when you are ready to insert your picture click that little yellow postage stap looking icon w/ the mountian. A window will pop up asking you to Copy/paste the Http:// address from your Photobucket website (or wherever). Click OK.
6. It will then appear as only a HTTP address in your thread right now, but when you click *preview post* you should be able to see your picture as part of your thread.

Thats how I do it. I am sure there are other ways but this way is pretty easy.

Also when you are typing up your thread, if you want to insert a link to a website, just click on the globe.
