I assume that one brushes an IG vinyl pool the same or in a similiar way as an IG gunite pool, true? If so, are there different/special brushes for vinyl that maybe softer than a brush you would use in a gunite pool?

Yeah, you use a brush for vinyl--softer plastic bristles. Those metal wire brushes will shred vinyl as fast as a knife.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know that brushes for gunite pools had metal wire bristles, I certainly wouldn't dream of using that on vinyl.

Since I have always had a vinyl pool I don't know if brushing a gunite pool is any different.
I just start at the top of the wall and push the brush down towards the drain. Lift the brush back to the top and repeat.
I just brush the sides not the floor.
Yes, it is a soft brush.
