We are at the stage where we need to decide on a pump for our pool. The pool is a inground 30,000 gallon pool with a Slide (40gal per min.) 2 aerators, a pop up cleaning system and a sheer descent.

I will need to place an order within the next three day so they can start on Monday.

Thanks you.

Have you looked into the Pentair IntelliFlo 4x160, I have heard a lot of good things about it. It saves you a lot by allowing you to run 4 different speed settings depending on what water features you have running there by reducing the energy needed at any given time. I guess if you are made of money you can look into the Pentair IntelliFlo, I hear its the most efficient pump on the market... and prob the priciest.... I think its around $1500. I am sure someone else can pipe in on this.

Are you CERTAIN you need that big a pump? HP in pumps isn't useful the way HP is in a car--too much is an expensive-to-run pain in the patoot, that can damage your filter and NOT keep your pool clean.

And get a two-speed! Even if it's got only a manual switch on the pump motor housing it will be worth it's weight in gold!

You'll thank me! It will save you SO much in electricity and be far quieter in Lo mode. You'll use Lo virtually 95% of the time, and only use Hi for your slide (maybe) and your popup cleaners.

I've YET to see a person here with a 2-speed pump who wishes they had a single speed.
