Each year I end up replacing the double tube, 4" x 8' water bags because over the winter one or more ruptures.

Today has been my first time at the pool since December when it froze. We only had two snow storms here in CT, so the winter has been less than stellar. We had a lot of warm / cold spells with the freeze and unfreeze cycles.

All of the water bags around the permiter of the pool have failed! I have two with one chamber of water and all the other once must of ruptured. These were all new this fall! I only fill them 1/2 way up to allow for the expansion of water as it freezes.

I purchased these water bags at one of those discount "lots" stores. I knew they felt cheap and shoud have spent the $3.99 for quality ones at the pool store.

i assume you're talking about water bags to hold your winter cover in place once your pool is closed. we save 10-12 of our bleach bottles after they are empty, and store them in our shed. come closing time, we fill the bottles up 1/2 way with water, and put them on top of our cover. cover stay down, no broken water bags, and no ballooning of the cover in the wind.....and they're free!

These are the waterbags that are used traditionally around the perimiter of an inground pool or above ground / on ground with a deck and a walk around.

Bleach bottles would not hold down the cover. There would be too many gaps and wind would get under the cover.
