Hello,

This is Luke the pool professional guy in Atlanta. This year I have decided to use a portable pool filteration system to assist in clearing the clients pools quicker. Most pools I'd use this on have really old filters and they are too cheap to replace them. I am going to use a DE filter and a pump probably with 1.5" piping. I was wondering if I make the suction at one end of the pool in the deep end and the return at the other end. Will that be effective or will I need a return spaced out a long the pool. Your ideas are very helpful. If you have pictures, that would be great too!

Only comment I have is for the suction device. I sometimes suck from the deep end when trying to melt ice. Don't ask why. I use a length of PVC with a bunch of small holes drilled in it. Keeps from sucking up anything big and also prevents a hose or something sucking right against a liner and maybe sucking a hole in it especially with older brittle liners.
