Hi Guys,
I've been trying to do my homework prior to buying a salt chlorinator.
I found some pretty inexpensive ones on Ebay for under $500.00. Aquachlor. They are out of Australia. Anyone heard of them? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Here is some of the info:
BRAND NEW WITH 2 YEARS WARRANTY ON POWER BOX AND 5 YEAR PRO-RATA ON CELL

THIS CHLORINATOR DOES 24 GRAMS PER HOUR AND WILL DO A POOL UP TO 96,000 LITRES.

MADE BY MONARCH INDUSTRIES

OUTSTANDING FEATURES OF THIS MODEL ARE

+ LARGE HIGH FLOW RATE CELL HOUSING

+ HEAVY DUTY SELF CLEANING CELL

+WEATHER PROOF POWER BOX

+ TIME CLOCK

+ LOW SALT INDICATORS

THIS UNIT HAS THE SAME CELL AS THE CHLOROMATIC ECSC24, THE AQUACHLOR HAS A SERIES OF 5 LIGHTS FOR ITS OUTPUT DISPLAY,WHILST THE CHLOROMATIC HAS A DIGITAL LED DISPLAY WITH A WINTER MODE FUNCTION AS WELL.

BOTH RELIABLE UNITS HOWEVER THE AQUACHLOR IS JUST THE PLAIN JANE VERSION

BTW I have a 10k gunite pool here in Texas. would the above unit be overkill for this tiny pool?
Thanks Pool guys
Craig

I have only just heard of Monarch as of late last year. I saw some of their products at a trade show. My questions would be?

Since your're not purchasing from a US based dealer what is the recourse if a problem arises?
Do they offer toll-free tech support?
What is their exact warranty policy?
Who stocks parts in the U.S.? I don't know of any U.S. distributors currently stocking their products.

As for the system itself, I haven't ever run across with a pool with one of their systems installed. Nor do I know how long they've been in business for. I'm not saying it's not a good system, it's just not used much in the United States.
