Current pump just made it through last year. Looking to go from 3/4 HP single speed to 1 HP two-speed. Save some $$ on electricity and get a little extra draw for running pool vac.

Have 16x32 inground, @ 20,000 gallons.

Anybody have an opinion on this pump? Cheapest I've found is $421 shipped from adventurepooldepot.com . Also see it for $379 @ http://www.pumpwarehouse.com/haysuper.htm but can't order online.

TIA,
Ken

Super Pumps are pretty good as far as pumps go. Not quite as efficient as the Northstar but pretty good. Also, are you aware that the pump you chose is a 1 HP Up Rated pump which is the same as 3/4 HP Full Rated pump? Anyway it should be fine for your pool as far as size goes.

About a year and a half ago I got a 3/4 hp SuperPump from these guys:
http://stores.ebay.com/BACKYARDLIVIN_W0QQsspagenameZL2QQtZkm

$235 + $24 shipping.
Prompt delivery (despite UPS' best efforts) and nice folks, judging from the emails betwen us.

BTW, my pool's nearly the same size as yours (33x17, 22K gal.) and the 3/4 does a great job.
