I just got an email with Leslie's winter clearance specials advertised. Both the above products are on sale. For curiosity, I looked at the MSDS for both products and they're the same! And, they're from the same manufacturer??Could this be?
Pooltrine 60, at $9.66/qt. says it will take 3 oz. of the product/10K gallons for maintenance. Super Algi-Gon at $6.66/what-looks-like-a-qt., says it will take just 1-1/4 oz. of the product/10K gallons for maintenance. PLUS, the Super Algi-Gon description says it's effective on green, black, blue-green and mustard algae, while the Pooltrine description only mentions green algae.
It would seem as if the Super Algi-Gon is the much better buy - if the descriptions are to be believed. What am I missing or is the Super Algi-Gon that much better than Pooltrine 60?

If you haven't purchased yet- go with the Pooltrine 60, always make sure the ingredients on your algaecide are 60% poly... something (has a big long name, but always starts with poly). The brand doesn't matter as long as it's ingredients are 60% poly...!!
Right now they don't offer the Pooltrine, but I just ordered the algae control in the gallon for $46.49. It is listed in my catalog for $20 off with free shipping and handling. This comes to $11.62 a quart -- cheap!! Last year I purchased the Pooltrine 60 for $7.73 which was really cheap.
Goodluck with your pool.

Donya, Algae Control is listed on the Leslie web site for $66.49. Did you get a special code to give you the $20 off with free shipping? Thanks!

I just got a new Spring 2007 catalog a couple days ago and it has the special in it. My source code is 751SPR. Their toll free number is 800-537-5437 or 800-Leslies, if you want to request a Spring catalog. I did verify with them that it's 60% poly too. The gallon size isn't as handy to work with, but I have a left over qt bottle from last year that I'll use first, and then just refill it out of the gallon jug. This is the cheapest I found it this year, so am stocking up. Won't be long and it'll be time to open up for the year, woohoo!

Donya, thanks! I called Leslie, referenced your source code and placed an order with no problem. Leslie was happy to comply; no problem at all. I suspect one can order on the web as well since they have a source code entry there.

Huskerfan,
I placed an order on Leslie's website last night using the source code you mentioned. It gave me free shipping, but not the $20 off. Is there a minimum $$ order to get the $20 discount? Could you possibly scan the page from the catalog showing the discount? I could email or fax this to Leslies so they will honor the discount.
Much Appreciated!

I don't - sorry, but if you call customer service and tell them I'm sure they'll honor it, they're really a good customer service friendly company. Sometimes, too- the price isn't reflected online, but your billing will show it. Good luck -

I used the source code mentioned. I was given free shipping & handling, but not the $20 off. They said they would need to see the ad in order to honor that discount.
