I ordered a test kit from Taylor and they asked me if I wanted to choose the "protect from freezing" option. Not knowing any better, I said yes.

Since then, I've discovered that this is very expensive. I now have an opportunity to decline this option.

Has anyone ever encountered this? If so, what have you done?

Thanks ever so much.

Nope. No idea what that is. I protect my Taylor kit from freezing by storing it inside.

I EXPECT my pool to freeze...I've had over a foot of ice on it some years.

I suppose I should clarify that the "protect from freezing" option refers to protecting the kit from freezing during shipping.

Jefe, I haven't had to order reagents durring the colder months, so can't speak from experience, however - despite the extra cost - I'd get the freeze protection. My reasoning for this can be found in post #8 in this thread 1123
