Trying to decide on an inground pool. I'm looking at probably having to do it myself since we live in a rural area where pool contractors are reluctant to travel. I'm seriously considering a fiberglass pool, but have also thought about a vinyl liner. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome!

My husband and I built our own inground vinyl pool a few years ago. What a nightmare. I wouldnt do it again. We went vinyl again this past summer, and we had a pool builder do it this time. It rained alot the year we did it our self at our old house. What were some of the problems... the pool wasnt completely level, the liner kept floating after heavy rains, the pool bottom wasnt smooth enough. You name it. Our new pool now that is 6 months old is great. Very happy. :D

We put in a fiberglass pool this year and love it so far. We didn't do it ourselves, but some fg pool dealers will sell the shell and advise on istallation. Probably the easiest type of pool to do it yourself. Good Luck.

I watched the entire process of ours being installed back in November. Other than proper backfilling and getting it level I don't think it would be a problem to do yourself. I believe Viking even provides a video for self installers.

We also live in a rural area & installed our fiberglass pool ourselves. We love it!
