I recall someone on the older forums that had made their own solar cover reel.
I have a cheep reel now (horizons HV-10) that uses plastic needle bearings, which are awful at best...the manufacturer does not recommend any type of lubricant, so after 4 years this thing is a bear to roll up. I even replaced both bearings last year, but it made little difference.
I'm thinking of using the center tube from mine and then making new ends...any suggestions?
