Hi,

I have a autopilot total control system (the kind with the acid tank). My pool builder has given me lots of problems so I really don't trust anything he does. I had to drain my pool recently due to his actions.

My water comes from a well. After taking about 3 straight days to fill up my pool, while I was at work my pool builder poured an entire bottle of "Metal Out" in the pool. Is this a problem? If it is, what do I do?

My next question is this: the water had not reached the skimmer level yet and he somehow turned off the circulation/suction to the skimmer so that the water could circulate just through the jets. I've looked and I feel stupid but I can't seem to find out where he did this so I cannot get the skimmer to work. Any idea what it would look like to turn the skimmer back "on"?

I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

I have 2 PVC pipes that come up out of the ground, that meet and flow into one pipe that flows into my pump basket. One pipe is for the main drains and one is for the skimmers. There is a valve that I can switch from one to the other, or in between the 2, that determines where the pool is draining from.

I'm not sure what he did with the skimmer, but to answer the question about the metal out - It is a good thing to add the metal out when you fill a pool with well water. You will need to use the metal out on a maintence dose level whenever you top off the pool with the well water, unless your water passes through a water softener before going into the pool. Well water has metals in it that will stain the pool if the ph and chlorine are high. You can read through the metal forum to get more info on it, but as long as you keep enough metal out or any sequesterer you will keep the metals in suspension and they will not fall out and stain the surface of the pool. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have:)
