I've have a new IG pool with a Jandy DEL 60 filter and Hayward DE Separation Tank (Model C9002 SEP) . I have only backwashed twice so far. The first time I backwashed the separation tank jolted and bag got ripped to shreds . No one at the pool store ever saw anything like it. They replaced the bag as defective at no charge. Next time (today) there no jolt or ripped bag but there was no DE in the bag either. Seemed a bit suspicious so I looked at the schematic and it appears they had the DE separation tank inlet/outlet reversed. The instruction manual schematic shows the waste line from filter going to the lower inlet on the separation tank and instead mine goes to the higher inlet. My question is can the pool company just flip the tank around to correct inlet/outlet , or has any irrepairable damage occured to the separation tank by having it installed in reverse?? Thanks in advance fo any insight.
