I got the ph at 7.2, alk 90, cya 60 and got the cl to 15ppm. Kept it there for 36 hours, brushing and backwashing. Water is pretty clear a little cloudy in the deep end. The cl level stayed at 15ppm for about 20hrs, do I let the level come back down to 5ppm now. Have a SWG but its off for now.

Hi, Dave,

the definitive, absolute answer is maybe!!:) :)

It sounds like your pool is pretty cleaned up but the best way to find that out is to have a test kit that tests for Combined Cl. If you CC test greater, than .5ppm, you need to bring it back up to around 20. (With a CYA test of 60, you may have needed to bring your Cl up to 20 to reach breakpoint....shock).

If your CC is less than .5 however, you're good to go.

If I have a problem like that, I keep mine up until the water is crystal clear again, regardless what the CC is, but that's just me. Dave's suggestion is true, however. I just like to keep mine up until I'm sure of things!!

Hi, Dave,

Yeah, your gonna need to change something......Clear out an extra shelf in the fridge and put more beer in it....you'll need it this Summer because your pool is virtually perfect and your buddies will all be over for a swim!! :) :)

If your pool isn't clear, then keep at it. Is the cloudiness white or brown? Are you vacuuming and brushing everyday? (until the pool is good to go)

Just a slight haze that is only you can only see in the deep end. I would say its white. Brushing daily, was vacuuming but put the dophin in last night and will continue with that.

Between the dolphin and a couple of days it should clear...then you'll be OK.

White haze usually means something besides algae--or dead algae. Is your calcium high?

I'd bump your salt level up to 3200, for the start of the season. My calculator will help you figure how much salt you'll need . It's in my sig below.
