Hi,
Our recently installed ingound pool has PVC installed into the concrete collar to support the sidewalks (they are to be filled with concrete) Well the excavator bushed them over while backfillinig and they are bent over, I want to use a vibrator but the pool guy will have to grade again...... I have been compacting under the stairs with a piece of pipe... Now the pile the pool company touts as a positive constrution item is now bent/broken..

Most improtantly i have a rock under the liner. The size seems large enough to cut thru hte liner in no time..... Can i have them remove the rock buy emptying the pool to this point ( its located at the top of slope in the shallow enc) or should i just cut the liner and patch it??

Thanks for any help, by the way we have it at 80 f and are in it everyday due to the kids football practices :)

I can ***ure you that the rock under your liner is probably about 10% as big as it seems through the liner. Still, if you feel like you want it removed it can be done by draining the pool as you said.

Could you post a pic of the supports as they are now? That would help determine a solution.

Well I spoke to my construction guy..

The cover 6" PVC tubes will be replaced by the concrete guy by post hole digger and setting new tube in hole...

Id like to be there to see it! But I intend to borrow a vibrating compactor and just do in and around everything (trying to stay 1' away from pool). In addition, He said the soil should be packed under steps but hasnt, and he still to state who is to do that?? Ill call again.

The rock in the pool issue - he says its a remanant piece of the bottom matl. and will be flattened out by a rubber mallet:) ( I think Ill have his guy do this or should I -it is my liner and this guy may just whack it untill its done or ripped)

Thanks for the responce and all the help this site brings

Digger, any and all fixes are the builders' responsibility when the pool is new and untouched. If you have any trouble with it, please let me know. I wouldnt use the compactor until the original 'tubes' are found - they'll do better if set into the collar and coupled onto. Just my $.03

That sounds good, Ill leave the liner rock alone, he'll address that today:)

As far as settlement goes I already ran the small compactor in and around the pool, dug out two piles which were visable- looks much better and I agree the piles going down to the collar are worth digging up.(concrete sub is to perform this) cant find any plans depicting the placment or number of piles....

I pushed soil under my steps twice, thats looking much better

Concrete guy seems anxious and he stated it should take him 1-2 days, which sounds great. Because we want to do some paver areas/walks after this ..

Again thanks for your input

dont mean to be a pain, but I know concrete is going to crack. But the pool company stated they have been only doing this for 2 yrs:eek: and to me thats not much-So i come here and rant and use the compactor at night instead of listening to my wife..LOL

Ohh and Brad I been so busy with the kids football and the POOL I havent taken any pictures as of yet.....but will after the rains this week THANKS

and to note the tubes are 4" and approximately 3' in length set in the concrete collar of various thicknes, although it did look like quite a lot of material.
