Anti-freeze prices?

What's everybody paying for a gallon of antifreeze?
Right now, the Menard's near me has the red RV type for about $3/gallon. Is that a good price?

We got it last year on sale at Meijers for $2.99. It could have been $2.79, but I'm guessing on the high side because I don't recall exactly.

IMO, you can't beat a Meijer sale price. :)

Is the RV type of antifreeze the same thing the pool stores sell? Was just wondering.

Yes, they are the same ingredients. They might be different strengths tho.... I'm not sure about that.

We have used RV anti freeze for several years without any problems.

What is the antifreeze used for? Just curious - I live in Texas and we don't really close pools for the winter over here.

For winter storage, we pour it in the skimmer, and also in the lines after we've blown out the water.
