I am thinking about using glass mosiac tiles as the waterline tiles. Is there any negative about going with glass as opposed to ceramic tiles?

We're using glass mosaic tiles on our waterline. Not from this company, but here is some information.

Other than the extra $$$$$ (from about $20 per s.f plus instal) there is no problem using the glass tile. If you are talking about the 1" x 1" keep in mind that they are also thinner than the ceramic and need to be built out in order to be flush with the pool finish material. You can also use it as a border on your steps and benches to match.

It does look great though..... So if your budget permits it - go for it!!!

Just make sure the sub is familiar with glass tile installation.
