Nevermind I am a dope and made a mistake adding Baking Soda to a pool filled with water with a high TA to begin with. I bow my head in shame. If my TA is sky high , but my pH is 7.2 should I worry much and try to bring the TA down or just wait and keep and eye on the pH? 17,000 gallon AG 27' pool.

Add some acid to lower your PH to about 7.0 - this will also lower your TA. Aerate the pool by turning the returns so that they ripple the water, turn on a fountain, or have a bunch of kids play. This will raise the PH while maintaining the same TA level. You may have to do this a couple of times.

How high is "sky high"?

Ummmmmmmm either my ALK 2 reagent is bad or it is off the charts because I cannot get the green to turn red. I have a fountain and a slide that are running. pH is at 7.4 now.

use a little more acid and get the pH back down to 7.0, keep aerating. It'll get there!
