I am tuning my salt generator and I accidentally generated more chlorine than I
meant to (I was away for a few days) and now my free chlorine reads 4.5ppm. This is
an indoor pool and when chlorinating it manually I kept it at 1ppm to 1.5ppm and
that seemed to be fine. I suppose I should just let the chlorine drift down to
those levels, but I am wondering if folks have experience on how long it would
typically take for this to happen, assuming light or no use of the pool. (I use
a solar blanket if it makes any difference).

Thanks!
Luigi

The quickest way to get the CL down is to leave it uncovered and if you have a way to really mix it up, swim jet or kids, and turn the exhaust on high. Although under 5 is typically lower then most public pools.
