I am beginning to shop for winter stuff for our new pool. I saw something that looks very much like skid shrink wrap- they call it winter seal for AG covers. It is suppose to help with the wind and UV. Has anyone tried this product? Or would we be better off just using regular winter cover and doctoring it up a bit according to the posts I have read?

I've used it for three years now. I bught the cover seal the first year, then I bought just regular shrink wrap from a postal packaging store. Buy the 12 inch stuff not the 6 inch. I've done it both ways and the 12 each gives a much better seal and doesn't slide off the pool edge in heavy winds. The six inch came off the pool, the 12 inch never has. We also use the JR clips to hold the cover one and have had great results.

Les-
I would have never thought of the postal wrap. Was it the same quality as the "shrink wrap". I saw one online place selling it for 19.99 for 60 ft.

How did the clips work for you - is the wrap better?
Thanks
John

I use both the wrap and the clips at the same time. I don't use the cable that came with the cover and never have. The cover seal they state will go around a 24' AG pool six times. The circuference of a 24'AG pool is 75.36 feet. So, the cover seal roll is at least 452 feet long. I think 60 ft for 19.99 is awfully high if you're talking about the 12 inch roll.
