I have had my AG pool for about 7 years and installed it all by lonesome. I have always known it to be a 27' X 48" pool. I need to replace the liner and "after" I ordered the new liner I decided to double check the diameter. I got 27' 3". I called the fine folks at swimmingpoolliners.com and said is this right? 27' 3" and will the 27' liner work? I can remember pretty clearly that I put a 27' liner in when I installed the pool, being I got the pool for free. Just for sanity sake I would like to hear someone's thoughts on this. I measured from the pool wall to wall.

I think I remember reading on this forum somewhere that someone installed a 52" tall liner on a 54" tall pool and had no problems. What kind of liner did you order? ie overlap, beaded, etc... I think you will probably be ok with a 27' liner.

Thanks, it's an overlap, so I should be good.
More importantly I found out what model Swim n Play it is. I always seem to have bad luck when it comes to finding out info on a product that was given to me, like "Well they don't make that crappy model anymore" or "That model was prone to side wall bursts", but this time I found out that the pool is extruded aluminum.
It's Swim n Play's Essex model and they still make parts for it. I just envisioned tearing the liner out to find huge amounts of rust on the pool walls. I think I have some oxidation going on, but I will address that with a wire brush and I have ordered the wall foam along with the new liner.
I really can't complain about costs. I got the pool for free and someone gave me a Pentair Meteor Filter and I only had to replace the pump 3 years ago.
I just have a habit of getting consumed in the whole info gathering process and reading some of the horror stories in this forum.
I don't think I have spent more than $500 on parts, pumps and liners in the 7 years I have owned it. As they say "It owes me nothing" We love our pool and if it means eating a huge water bill to replace the liner, so be it. I really can't complain.

Yeah, some of the stories on this forum can give you nightmares! It sounds like your free pool has served you well over the years, and with a new liner, it should continue to bring you good times for many more years! Good luck with the installation.

If you measure your pool across the center in all directions, do you get 27-3 all teh way around?
Sometimes, it's just that the pool is a bit out of round due to setup, this would give you one measurement of 27-3 and possibly another of 26-9 the other way.
Either way, I don't think 3 inches will give you problems with a 27 foot liner.
