I recently attached a fountain to the auxillary line which my polaris currently operates from. I have seperate booster pump 3/4 hp that operates the Polaris 260. When I hooked up the fountain I removed the UWF(Universal wall fitting) that came with the polaris. The UWF has a restrictor which limits the amount of water that flows into the polaris line. However, after I removed the UWF and hooked up the fountain the booster pump stopped running after about 30 minutes. When I went to check it I noticed it was extremely hot but not really any hotter than the main pump which runs the pool. I shut every thing down let it sit a few minutes then turned everything back on and it started working again.
Is this booster pump not desgined to work with a fountian? I have never had a problem with it while th epolaris was running. Is the fact that I removed the UWF with the restrictor plate causing the pump tp shut down. I would think that with the UFW off it would be easier on the pump since it would have no restrictions. Has anyone ever experinced this before? I'm afraid to run it now because I don't want to damage the booster pump. Any advice appreciated.
