I read on the web that pools are suppose to have a safety switch or two main drains to help prevent children from drowning. Has anyone else read/heard this? Which would be best? Does the switch work automatically or is it something that the owner manually flips before children enter the pool?

Are you talking about a new pool or retro-fitting an older pool? All new pools have split drains. Safety switches and anti-vortex drain covers help reduce the risk on older pools with a single drain.

A new pool. I was quoted one main drain. What does a split drain mean? Should I have two drain outlets with it? Thanks, Webfeet
