I have been given an AG pool. 24 ft round. I think it has a beaded liner at present. It seems from reading in this forum I should invest in a new liner. Can it be an overlap or once a beaded always a beaded? Also I wondered at the steps for set-up. We have the site picked out and will level it, then what? Does sand go down before or after the walls go up? And where to go after that? Thanks for all the great info. Polly

Hi Polly, Dennis is probably the one that can help you the most but I would go with an overlap liner.
After the site is level and tamped, You can place your sand inside to make it easier later.
Set your blocks for the uprights,Your bottom rails. and go from there.
After the wall's up, level out the sand, A step ladder comes in handy to get out. From the outside you can broom over any foot prints and set your liner.
Hope this helps some.

Good advice Virangos, I am here to add a little more. See this thread.

As for converting to overlap. I would definately do so. You will probably just need to buy coping strips when you buy the new liner. The coping goes over the liner and the metal rods would go over the coping. Most pools that come with a beaded liner have a metal retaining rod that goes over the bead receiver.
You would simply replace the receiver with the coping.

If that is not the case with your pool send a pic or two and I can help you convert it.

Later, Dennis

Thanks For All Your Help. Dennis- The Pics Were Very Useful. I Usually Have To Read Something And Then See How It's Done To Understand And The Pics Did Just The Trick! Thanks Again. Polly
