I have the AquaRite Goldline SWG. What is the maintenance for it?

I have taken the fuel cell offline - and hosed it out - but am unable to remove it completely due to the wires - not sure what to do with those.

Is there a filter that needs to be replaced?

What is the maintenance for it?

How often do the fuel cells need replaced?

THANKS!

All your questions and then some can be answered by going to the Goldline website, goldlinecontrols.com. :) There, you can even print out an owner's manual for your particular unit. There's also a section that shows you in photographs how to clean your cell which is better than I could ever describe it!

you normaly need to soak the cell in a weak Muratic Acid solution to remove the build up that occures.

The cell will unplug from the control panel for cleaning

The cell will unplug from the control panel for cleaning

Okay - that makes sense. Except for the fact that the wire is long and they used those chinese plastic ties to tie it down along the way. I guess that means I would have to cut those and then get more to put it back?

There is some other little dark gray wire as well.

For now I have just been unhooking and using the pressure hose - don't see any buildup yet - but will want to take it off the next time I guess?

Thanks for your help!!

I just watched my PB switch out my cell last night so I'd know how to do it when I need to.

That little dark gray wire stays attached to the plumbing, as it's not part of the actual cell that gets removed for cleaning. Only the larger white cord gets disconnected from the panel, as waterbear states, in order for you to remove the cell.

I was encouraged that it actually seems to be a simple process! :)

Mine's probably like dawndenise setup. They tie wrapped the wires to the plumbing. I just brought the acid solution in a small bucket to the equipment pad and soaked it there. I didn't take off the tie wraps and had enough loose cord to move the cell and put it in the bucket.
