Just my luck my Robo Kleen stopped working & 30 days to the day my warranty is up, company said I could mail it in at my cost and there would be a $40.00 charge to look it over then what ever to repair the unit. Not sure if the cost would be worth it.
But ..... When I was looking over the forums I came across one that made a reference to a problem with fuse....anybody hear of this & if so how to fix the unit myself ?
The unit stopped working will not even get power, I did note that the last few times I have used it I could not get the power plug out of the green power unit itself ( thought it just got hot from sun and melted plastic inside) But it still worked fine. I really like the unit and would love to fix it. Any Help????

Is the transformer power light on? If it is check the voltage with a voltmeter and confirm it has power. If it's on and there is no voltage perhaps the transformer died. Check the plug for corrosion and make sure it hasn't melted. Smell the transformer and if it smells like something sweet has burnt, then chances are it has fried. If the light to the transformer won't come on at all, first check the obvious and move the plug to a known working receptacle and if it still won't come on, then again it's the transformer. Now keep in mind that the robot may have overloaded the transformer or the transformer just died of natural causes, so replacing the unit may work or work for a while with the same result. I will look at mine and see if there is a fuse that is accessible and report back.

I think my post may have referenced the fuse issue. My husband actually opened up the power source (took the screws out) and saw that the fuse had blown. We finally found a fuse at a specialty hardware store...not a big box store...but when we replaced it, the fuse blew again after two uses. The manufacturer told us they had discovered a defect with the power source and replaced the entire unit with a new one. We haven't had a problem since.

Based on our experience, I'm guessing that your problem may not be the fuse since they repaired the defect, unless you purchased it before 6/2005.

Best of luck with your Robo-Kleen. We REALLY love ours!
