We are currently in the process of filling our new pool (We finally did get the pool up, but that is another story)

We have an AG 41x21x52" oval about 20500 gal.
22" sand filter, with 1.5 HP pump
AquaRite SWG will be here Wednesday, suposedly

I do have a drop based OTO cl test, and am planning to upgrade to Ben's kit very soon...

Should I used the stablized Chlorine tabs that came with the pool kit to get the pool running, and establish some CYA in the pool while I wait on the SWG? Is this a good plan? What would you do?

TIA!

Use the tabs until the the CYA level is between 60 - 80 ppm, and then start using regular bleach to maintain about 5 ppm chlorine. TA should be 80 - 120 ppm, and CH can be a nominal 120 ppm.

Add muriatic acid to maintain about 7.2 to 7.6 pH. Add the salt with at least 99.5% purity, (not rock salt) for the pool size you have. You can get it from Home Depot or Lowes.

Use mwsmith2's bleach calculator below to help you calculate the amount of salt required, and any other chemicals.

Hope this helps to get you started.
