We are considering a pool using Hayward Equipment. Does anyone have good/bad experiences with Hayward compared with other systems?

Welcome to the forum.
Hayward has been around for a long time and is certainly one of the better equipment manufacturers. There are others too. I've been running a Hayward pump, sand filter, and the infamous CL-200 chlorinator that everyone complains about. I admit I hardly use it because I only use pucks when I need to raise CYA but it is going on 9 seasons now and have no complaints. One thing I will recommend is to size the pump and filter properly. When you get an equipment list, post here with specifics and we'll be glad to guide you to your best configuration. I'm moving this thread to the Pool Const & Rapeir forum as there will be more visibility there.

I've got three quotes for pools with Hayward equipment. One says a one HP pumpfor pool and a 1.5 HP for spa, one says a two-speed two horsepower pump, and one says two 2 HP pumps. All Hayward equpment.

Pool is 11' x 27' (4 feet to 6 feet depth) with a 7' Spa
best solution seems to be a two speed 2HP hayward northstar pump.

What do you think?
