How high is too high for a vinyl pool and what do you if it's too high?

Thank you!
Pam

There is a sticky at the top of the alkalinity and calcium forum that explains how to lower alkalinity. You want your alkalinity to be between 80-120. I think vinyl liner pools can be higher than that, but that is what is usually recommended for pools.

I just got my alkalinity ok to shock (newly filled pool-4 days now). It read 110. I have gotten it up from about 80 w/ baking soda and the ph is good. I have had chlorine sticks in ( I always keep two going) and tom. a.m I am going to shock w/ 1 lb of burn out and after 1 hour or so I will put back the skimmer basket w/ the chlorine smart sticks and see where that takes me.
